Roadside Assistance Kilkenny
Not every breakdown needs a recovery. A lot of the time the car just needs a jump start, a wheel changed, a few litres of fuel or a quick fix to get it moving again. Kilkenny Recovery Truck provides mobile roadside assistance across Kilkenny city and County Kilkenny, 24 hours a day, with the aim of getting you back on the road without the cost of a full recovery.
If we can fix it at the roadside, we will. If we cannot, the flatbed is already there and we recover the car, with no second call-out and no second wait.
Roadside problems we fix on the spot
- Flat batteries: jump start, battery testing, battery replacement
- Punctures: spare fitted, temporary plug repairs, inflation
- Run out of fuel: emergency fuel delivery (petrol or diesel) to get you to a station
- Snapped or slipping auxiliary belts where a replacement can be fitted
- Blown fuses, loose battery terminals, corroded connections
- Overheating: top up, hose checks and advice on whether it is safe to continue
- Keys locked in the car (non-destructive entry where possible)
- Lights, wipers and simple electrical faults that make the car unsafe to drive
Why roadside assistance saves you money
A roadside call-out is cheaper than a recovery. By carrying the right equipment on the truck we can often diagnose the fault, fix it and send you on your way in under half an hour. If the fault turns out to be serious, you have lost nothing: we recover the car on the same visit.
Roadside assistance on the M9
On the motorway, safety rules change. We do not carry out repairs on the hard shoulder because of the danger from passing traffic. If you break down on the M9 we recover the car to the next junction or a safe location and carry out the roadside fix there. For most faults this adds only a few minutes.
- Hazard lights on and, if it is safe, roll the car in off the road or into a gateway.
- At night or in bad weather, stay visible: hi-vis vest, sidelights on, warning triangle well back.
- Keep passengers away from the road, especially on narrow county roads with no verge.
- Send us your Eircode or a Google Maps pin so we find you first time.

How roadside assistance works with us
Roadside Assistance in Kilkenny: common questions
Do I pay for a recovery if you fix the car at the roadside?
No. You pay the roadside assistance call-out rate, which is lower. Recovery is only charged if the car actually has to be loaded and moved.
Can you bring fuel if I have run out?
Yes. We carry enough petrol or diesel to get you to the nearest filling station.
I am locked out of my car. Can you help?
Often, yes. We will try non-destructive entry. If the car has a deadlock system that cannot be opened safely we can recover it to a locksmith or main dealer.
