When a jump start is not the answer
If the engine turns over strongly but will not fire, the problem is usually fuel, spark or an immobiliser fault, not the battery. If the battery goes flat again within a day or two, the alternator is probably not charging, or there is a drain on the system. In those cases we recover the car to the garage so it can be properly diagnosed rather than jump starting it again and again.
